Before & After
Comprehensive Class II Overbite Overjet
This patient’s chief complaint was “buck teeth” in the front and a deep over-bite. There was also unattractive gum heights and considerable wear on the front teeth due to poor function. In two years, Dr. Niepraschk was able to give this patient great confidence with her new beautiful smile. Notice how the back teeth fit together after her treatment.
Posterior Unilateral Cross Bite with Anterior Open Bite
This case illustrates the benefits of upper jaw expansion when a child is still young and has an open growth plate. She had severe upper anterior crowding and top back teeth that were inside the lower back teeth, as well as jaw asymmetry because the bite on left side was normal. Dr. Niepraschk was able to expand the top jaw making room for the crowded front teeth and give her a great smile. Also, Dr. Niepraschk corrected the cross-bite on the back teeth and closed the open-bite between the front teeth.
Comprehensive Anterior Crossbite Midline Shift
This case illustrates an anterior cross-bite “under-bite” with a significant dental midline shift and spacing between the lower teeth. In less than 18 months, Dr. Niepraschk was able to correct the under-bite, match up the dental midlines, and close all the spaces. Notice how well the teeth now match up giving this patient a beautiful smile and healthy function.
This case illustrates how you’re never too old for braces. The patient’s chief concern was her lower left back tooth that had tipped into the missing tooth space. She and her family dentist wanted to restore her bite and replace the missing tooth. Dr. Niepraschk was able to upright the back tooth and make space for replacement of the missing tooth, which made her and her family dentist very happy.
Anterior Crossbite Only
This case illustrates a child with an anterior crossbite and crowded-out front tooth. If left untreated, this could cause tooth chipping, possible gum recession, and altered jaw growth. This is a great example of how limited early treatment was able to correct the problem in a short amount of time. Dr. Niepraschk then fit the patient for a retainer and will continue to monitor growth and tooth eruption at no additional cost.
Phase I Buck Teeth
The patient and her mother were both concerned about the upper front teeth sticking out, or “buck teeth.” Dr. Niepraschk often recommends that treatment be delayed until all of the permanent teeth are in, if possible, but both patient and mom wanted the front teeth fixed for improved self-esteem. Dr. Niepraschk was able to quickly bring the front teeth back. She is so happy and confident with her new beautiful smile. She also had an improvement in her lip profile.
This patient’s main concern was severe lower crowding and the blocked-out lower right canine. Dr. Niepraschk was able to create room for his canine without taking out a tooth. His final alignment was great and he was so happy we did not have to remove any teeth to create the space.
Anterior & Posterior Crossbite
This case illustrates the need for early interceptive braces when a child has both adult teeth and baby teeth. Notice the under-bite of the front teeth and the right upper back tooth that is on the inside of the lower back tooth. This situation can result in gum recession, tooth chipping, and asymmetric skeletal growth if left alone until all the adult teeth are in. Dr. Niepraschk was able to correct the under-bite and the bite on the right back side, as well as center the front tooth midlines. This gave the patient a great smile and created space and healthy bone and gum structure for the eruption of all the adult teeth.
Phase I Anterior Crossbite
This patient illustrates a great case for phase I or early limited orthodontic treatment. A severely blocked-out upper right incisor that was in cross-bite was his pediatric dentist’s concern. This type of bite and tooth position require immediate correction for normal eruption and growth and to avoid chipping of teeth and gum recession. In less than 12 months, Dr. Niepraschk was able to create space, bring in the blocked-out tooth, and correct the cross-bite. Our patient loves his new smile!
Comprehensive Posterior Crossbite and Spacing
This patient’s chief complaint was a cross-bite on her right back teeth and general spacing between her teeth. She also was diagnosed with a deep bite. Dr. Niepraschk was able to correct all of her concerns and bite problems, giving her a beautiful smile and healthy bite.
Comprehensive Anterior Crossbite and Spacing
This patient’s main concern was the underbite of his front teeth and all of the spacing between the back teeth. He was also not happy with his smile. In two years, Dr. Niepraschk was able to correct all the challenges to his smile and bite, closed all the spaces, and corrected the underbite of his front teeth. This patient was very happy with his new smile.
Class II Unilateral Distalization
This challenging case illustrates the correction of a posterior bite that is misaligned where the upper teeth are nearly a tooth farther forward in relation to the lower teeth. Dr. Niepraschk was able to correct her bite, giving her a great function and beautiful smile. Notice how well the back teeth fit together after treatment.
Comprehensive Anterior Open Bite
This difficult case illustrates an anterior open-bite and reverse smile for the patient, resulting in poor function and an unattractive smile. Notice how Dr. Niepraschk was able to bring her front teeth together and create a beautiful smile and healthy function to this patient in just 17 months. Also, this patient’s brushing significantly improved.
Comprehensive Anterior Open Bite & Tongue Thrust
This patient had a chief concern of spacing between her upper front teeth and her front teeth not touching. She also had her front right tooth knocked out in an accident before braces, notice the grayish front tooth. Additionally, she had a tongue thrust habit. Dr. Niepraschk was able to help her retrain her tongue position and was able to align her teeth, close the spaces and create a normal bite relationship with the front teeth touching. Also, notice the gray tooth looks much whiter in the after picture, this is due to internal bleaching that Dr. Niepraschk was able to coordinate with her family dentist.
Comprehensive Adult Diastema Closure
This patient had a chief complaint of spacing and flaring of the upper front teeth. She had braces before as a child and had some shifting as an adult. Dr. Niepraschk was able to quickly address her concerns and restored her beautiful smile that made her less self-conscious. Also, note how Dr. Niepraschk bonded a white gold permanent retainer behind her upper front teeth to help prevent future shifting.
Comprehensive Spacing/Open Bite
This patient’s main concern was the spacing between her lower teeth and her bite not feeling right. Notice the open bite between her front teeth. Dr. Niepraschk was able to give her a beautiful smile and a healthy bite, another happy patient.
